This Spring look for some new trends in makeup as soft, smokey eyes, dramatic eyelashes, soft pink lips, full brows, and in general, soft natural looks become all the rage.

Eye makeup is all about definition and softness. After several seasons of dark, heavy shadows, eyes are lightening up.

Eyebrows for spring are softer and more natural. Let brows grow out and then only trim away those out of place hairs. The rest should move naturally towards one’s temple to create the perfect look.

Healthy skin is always important but this season the overall look is minimalistic. You skin should look natural, like it has been barely touched. This is done to help emphasize your eye makeup. Overall Spring ’09 makeup is about being lighter and healthier in appearance.

For blush look for colors in soft peaches, roses, and pastel plums. Textures are sheer and lightweight. Gone are bronzers and heavy browns.

For the lips, look for nude and pale colors that are 1960′s inspired. You will also find in abundance a variety of rich berry hues for that extra sheer wash of color.

And let us not forget BIG eyelashes! This has become one of the hottest of trends for this Spring. Don’t be scared off by the thought of wearing fake eyelashes, just spend the extra for a good pair and be sure you apply them properly.

One last trend that seems here to stay for the season is purple. That’s right purple – purple eyeshadow, eyeliner, nail polish and more!
