Get Lea Michele’s Kids’ Choice Awards Beauty Look!

Mar 31st, 2010 | By Seventeen.com Article Feed | Category: From Your Favorite Magazines

Did you totally love Lea Michele‘s gorgeous makeup at the Kids’ Choice Awards? Well Seventeen has the inside deets on how to make that look your own! Lea’s makeup
artist, Melanie Inglessis, says “for Lea’s look, I wanted to keep her
make up simple yet flawless and classic. It had to complement her hair
and dress without overpowering it so we went for a ‘modern day’ ballerina look.”

Steps to get the look:

1. To get Lea’s bright complexion, start by applying
CoverGirl Simply Ageless Concealer under your eyes followed by an
overall base of Giorgio Armani Luminous Foundation.

2. For the cheeks, apply CoverGirl Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach to create a warm flush of color followed by Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder to futher accentuate the cheekbones.

3. To achieve natural, but bold eyes, apply CoverGirl Smoky ShadowBlast
in Bronze Fire on the lid and crease and the white shade of CoverGirl
Smoky ShadowBlast in Onyx Smoke to the browbone and inner corner of the
eye. To define your eyelashes, apply several coats of CoverGirl LashBlast
Length Mascara
in Black.

4. Since the eyes are the main focus of this beauty look, use a slight stain on your lips. Melanie used Kevyn Aucoin Flesh Tone Lip Pencil followed by CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain in
Bit of Blossom.

What do you think of Lea’s look?

Health Alert: The Real Dangers of Tanning

Mar 31st, 2010 | By Seventeen.com Article Feed | Category: From Your Favorite Magazines

katiedonnar1These days, gearing up for summer means more than finding cute
swimsuits and flip-flops. Teens are hitting the
tanning salons to get bronzed before beach trips, prom, and even just
as a weekly regimen. It’s no secret that tanning beds are bad for
you, but what many girls don’t realize is just how dangerous they can be.

When Seventeen reader Katie Donnar joined the cheerleading squad, she felt more
pressure than ever to fit in with her friends. This meant taking part
in team bonding activities, one of which involved group trips to the
tanning salon. As Katie settled into her new clique, she began to tan
more regularly. Unfortunately, tanning was taking its toll on her body
in a way that she never saw coming.

Read Katie’s exclusive interview that she gave to Seventeen.
