DSquared2 + MAC = A Hot New Makeup Collection!

Sep 30th, 2009 | By Seventeen.com Article Feed | Category: From Your Favorite Magazines

makeupWant a runway makeup look? DSquared2 has teamed up with MAC for a hot new makeup collection based off of the look from their Fall/Winter ’09 runway show! Did you know: DSquared2 and MAC have a special bond because they’re both Canadian! The look is inspired by the undone glamour of Hollywood starlets like Lindsay Lohan and Mary-Kate and Ashley, complete with superdark shimmery black eye makeup. Dean Caten, one half of DSquared2 says, “Young Hollywood is about that, they don’t need to impress anyone, it’s cooler than being too studied. The same goes with the makeup, it isn’t about being perfect.” So don’t worry if you accidentally smudge your eyeliner! It just looks better the longer you leave it on and mess it. Sounds good to us!

Are you going to try it? Are you into that look? Sound off in the comments!

Style Council: Alisa’s Halloween Costume Ideas!

Sep 29th, 2009 | By Seventeen.com Article Feed | Category: From Your Favorite Magazines

Wednesday AddamsMy first Halloween costume is my Wednesday Addams look! I put a more mature twist to it with the
heels and red lipstick for a more grown-up appeal. This is a very easy
costume to put together, especially because I did not have to go out
and purchase anything! Girls, all you need is a simple black dress,
white collard button up shirt, black heels and black (or black and
white striped) tights or socks. I added a white headband just to make
the look more cutesy! The Wednesday Addams costume is fun, simple, and
adaptable. I am actually looking forward to wearing it to a party this
Halloween! Boo!

Get Kay Panabaker’s Red Carpet Look!

Sep 28th, 2009 | By Seventeen.com Article Feed | Category: From Your Favorite Magazines

Do you love Fame star Kay Panabaker’s red carpet look? Mark celebrity makeup artist Jamie Greenberg explains how she created Kay’s gorgeous look for the movie’s LA Premiere!

Face

“I started by applying mark Speedway Do Everything Makeup in Ivory to her skin. I then blended mark Get Bright Hook Up Highlighter in Light under her eyes to conceal and highlight above her cheekbones. Then I applied mark Just Pinched Instant Blush Tint in Cheeky to the apples of her cheeks to give her a warm glow, and a touch of mark Glo Xpert in Candle Glo for a highlighting effect.”

Eyes

“Kay wore a gorgeous red dress, so we wanted to go glam for her look. For her eyes, I started by applying mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Biscotti as a wash all over her eye and then smudged mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Luvstruck in her creases. Next, I added mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Fairy Dust to her inner corners and a little Plum Velvet on the outside crease. I then lined her top lash line with mark Get In Line Hook Up Waterproof Eyeliner in Violet and then lightly lined her lower lash line with mark Eye Glimmer in Glammed. To finish the eyes, I applied two coats of mark Make It Big Mascara in Raven.”

Lips

“I completed Kay’s look by applying mark Tinted Sheenstick Hook Up Lip Balm in Playful and mark Glow Baby Glow Hook Up Lip Gloss in Pink Crush to her lips.”

We talked with aspiring rapper/singer and model Chanel from MTV’s Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory and
she told us about her new clothing line that she helped create, called
Valleywood! Her clothing is available at valleywoodclothing.com and pacsun.com.
Also check out her MySpace page!

17: How did you get
involved with Valleywood?

Chanel: It’s crazy
at first they wanted me to model for a different line but the father company
decided that they wanted me to do my own line. They thought it would be a good
idea especially because I started telling them all of my ideas for my own line
and they really liked it.

17: What are some of
your favorite Valleywood shirts?

Chanel: There is a shirt that has the Los Angeles skyline with two palm trees in front
of it. I feel like it represents what the line
is. The line is very West Coast/ California influenced.

17: Where did you get the name Valleywood?

Chanel: I came up
with the name because I was born and raised in the Valley, but I’m still in the
Hollywood scene. The reason it’s called Valleywood is because it’s for a valley
girl in the Hollywood scene and lifestyle.
